About the Platform 

PICT-ICEO provides the expertise necessary for the discovery of original enzymes, coming either from combinatorial engineering projects - a method used to modify or improve protein properties in order to adapt catalysts to special conditions of use – or after screening of microbial collections or genomic /metagenomic libraries.

PICT-ICEO possess several high-throughput instrumentations (colony pickers, liquid handling automats) to provide the means to explore the diversity offered by such libraries and for which the development of robotic screening strategies, fast and reliable, are required.

In addition, two additional facilities, one analytical (HPLC, LC- MS or GC-MS) and the other dedicated to protein purification/characterization (FPLC, fluorimeter, circular dichroism) complete the resources and the services of the platform towards in depth enzyme characterization

ICEO’s users will be given access to the infrastructure during one month. They will benefit from expert training on each equipment of the ICEO perimeter necessary to their project. This will include access to colony pickers (QPixII, genetix; K2, KBiosystems), liquid handling automats (Genesis RSP200, TECAN; Nimbus station, Hamilton), protein purification equipments (AKTAXpress, GE Healthcare; AKTAPure, GE Healthcare) and several high-performance liquid chromatography systems (Thermo, Agilent). On top of this training, ICEO staff will assist the users, providing help for experimental design, library construction, screening optimization and enzyme analyses.
