About the Platform 

The GeT-Biopuces infrastructure, created about twenty years ago, is located on the LISBP, at INSA-Toulouse (France) and is an integrated genomics core facility specialized in the production, analysis and development of biochips and new generation sequencing (NGS).

The combination of state of the art equipment and a team of dedicated scientists (3 biologists, bioinformatics scientist and computer engineer) enable us to answer to your scientific question and allows us to support a wide variety of genomics and transcriptomics projects on eukaryotic and prokaryotic genomes, even the most unusual ones.

The platform staff assists users in the design and preparation of the project, in particular with regard to the design of the experiment (e. g. design of probes if custom chips, choice of Agilent or Affymetrix technology, number of biological replicates, sample preparation)

We offer you the possibility to carry out your transcriptomics and genomics experiments. In any case, we will ask you to provide us with your samples (total RNA or genomic DNA), we do not perform the extractions. We will carry out the various quality controls and start the experiments when the quality of your samples has been validated.

For transcriptomics experiments, we ask for biological triplicates for each condition, you will obtain a list of genes differentially expressed according to the desired comparisons. If relevant, we can carry out functional enrichment.
For genomic experiments, we will first ask you to make an agarose gel and send us a photo to get a first glimpse of their quality. We will also ask you to provide us the reference sequences in order to use them for alignment. We will carry out the analysis of variants (deletion, mutation, insertion).

A follow-up of your project is done throughout the experience and we keep in touch with you at all of steps

GeT-Biopuces platform is
nationally certified as Infrastructure in Biology, Health and Agronomy within the IBISA GIS, and certified ISO 9001 and NFX50-900.
We have an Ion S5 sequencer (Ion Torrent) using semiconductor sequencing technology. Thanks to its three chips of different sizes (520, 530 and 540; respectively 2-5 and 15Gb of data), it allows a more flexible and faster sequencing (between 2h30 and 5h)
