About the Platform 

The GeT-Biopuces infrastructure, created about twenty years ago, is located on the LISBP, at INSA-Toulouse (France) and is an integrated genomics core facility specialized in the production, analysis and development of biochips and new generation sequencing (NGS).

The combination of state of the art equipment and a team of dedicated scientists (3 biologists, bioinformatics scientist and computer engineer) enable us to answer to your scientific question and allows us to support a wide variety of genomics and transcriptomics projects on eukaryotic and prokaryotic genomes, even the most unusual ones.

The platform staff assists users in the design and preparation of the project, in particular with regard to the design of the experiment (e. g. design of probes if custom chips, choice of Agilent or Affymetrix technology, number of biological replicates, sample preparation)

We offer you the possibility to carry out your transcriptomics experiments using microarrays. Gene expression microarrays provide a snapshot of all the transcriptional activity in a biological sample. Depending on your microorganism of interest and your biological question, we will propose you to use Agilent or Affymetrix technology. Microarray technology is a robust methodology that has proven its worth in transcriptomics. We will ask you to provide us with your samples (total RNA), we do not perform the extractions. We will carry out the various quality controls and start the experiments when the quality of your samples has been validated.

We ask for biological triplicates for each condition, you will obtain a list of genes differentially expressed according to the desired comparisons. If relevant, we can carry out functional enrichment. All the obtained data are analyzed by softwares and bioinformatics ans statistics pipelines to deliver analysis of your data with easily intelligible reports and interpretable file formats, very useful and friendly for publication.
