About the Platform 

The Cell Factory of the CIB-CSIC is an integrated infrastructure that provides support to in-house R&D projects focused on the creation of microbial (bacteria, yeasts and fungi) cell factories.

It is based on an arrayed of equipment that covers the design-build-test cycle at lab scale.

Users benefit from the strong experience and guidance of the infrastructure’s scientific staff.

The Cell factory is composed of two components: The Microbial Cell Factory and Metabolic Engineering (Modeling).

These facilities are an array of state of the art equipment that are integrated to allow the execution of complete project pipelines aimed at the creation of optimized microbial cell factories for various biotech application areas (chemistry, food, pharma, etc.) but also for basic scienctific reseach
